We have reached twenty! Geoff Tate is talking about the songs, one by one, sharing a few things with us. So, what was the original title for "The Voice"? Here's your chance to find out...
March 2009
The next three videos, please!
The new three-pack (or is it tripack?) is already up. During video #8, Tate commends on "Unafraid", then it's Rocken on #9, talking about rehearsals and the way the band is preparing for the roads to madness... During video No 10, GT is sharing some thoughts about "Hundred mile stare".
New video more news!
Seventh "American Soldier" video is out and the band is always in Eddie Jackson's home studio, rehearsing for their upcoming American tour. Rumor has it the band has already booked for some festivals in Italy and Spain. Just a few min ago we heard they are gonna play in Switzerland, too. Standing by for confirmation...

Two more podcasts... more stories and Rychestuff...
Hey, RycHeads! The Spring has just entered and it's looking good so far... Two new videos have been launched from the Ryche camp. Parker Lundgren makes his first statements, regarding his role in the band and the live performance responsibilities. "I'm going to play exactly what you hear in the albums. Every solo, every theme, everything. I have some huge shoes to fill, cuz all the guitarists that have played with Queensryche are great musicians and song writers". The second video has to do with Geoff Tate explaining the meaning of song "Sliver". It has to do with those training camps and all the illogical army system, which makes soldiers go bananas. The band has even called a real veteran soldier to the studio, to do some guest vocals on the song.
We read about the "American Soldier" credits. Album was written by Geoff Tate, Jason Slater (producer and song writer on "Operation : Mindcrime II"), Scott Rockenfield, whilst Kelly Gray and Damon Johnson also contributed. For more info just click on http://1888media.blogspot.com/2009/02/you-reap-what-you-sowdont-be-afraid.html
Mike Stone has recently given his first afteRyche interview. Read about it and take a look at this live clip, featuring his new band, SpeedX. http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=114020
February 2009
More podcasts... and the new Ryche guitarist is...
Queensryche have just released two more videos. One about Kelly Gray, mixing the songs and talking to GT about it, whilst Ed is sitting next to them and Whip is ready to use the axe. As for the new guitarist... His name is Parker Lundgren and he is the musician Tate had chosen for his solo band. Parker will be joining Ryche for the tour and, to quote GT once more, the band is "Glad to have him". All the best, Parker!!!
Queensryche podcasting about "American Soldier"
The band members started making some comments on camera, concerning the new album. Geoff Tate started the thread, talking about the writing procedure and soldiers' interviews. A second video came along, featuring Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Mike Wilton talking about the recording sessions, which took place at Eddie's home-studio. At some point, Whip talks about Kelly Gray, who's the prïducer of the album as well as the sound engineer. No talk about Kelly and the tour so far, we're gonna keep you posted. Videos can be viewed over Ryche's official website by Fan Club members only.
Mike Stone is with Queensryche... no more!
Unfortunately, it's true. Mike has left. He is no longer with the band. Quoting from the Official website.
Mike Stone
has decided he will not be touring with Queensryche this spring. We will miss
him. He is a wonderful player and has contributed to our lives musically and
spiritually. We wish him the best and hope to see him succeed in everything he
chooses to participate in. He adds this statement:
"After much consideration, I will not be joining Queensryche on the 2009
American Soldier Tour. I feel now is the time to focus on other musical
endeavors, including my new band Speed X with Nick Catanese of Black Label
Society. I would like to thank all of the Queensryche fans around the world
for being nothing less than amazing to me during my time with the band. You
have treated me like gold, and I will never forget it. It has been an honor to
be a part of the Queensryche family, and I wish Geoff, Michael, Scott and
Eddie nothing but the very best." - Mike Stone

Geoff Tate posted the following comment on Ryche.com Forum
"Michael Wilton plays all the guitars on American Soldier with the exception of a few guest spots. We did this because we wanted to have a certain Queensryche sound that truly only Michael can produce and we very much achieved that".
We will keep you posted. Rumor has it that some special guest guitarists recorded these "spots". In the meantime, some of the song titles are the following.

We'll never forget you,
Cindy...
One of the sweetest Ryche fans, a truly dedicated supporter and amazing person, Cindy Fuller (MetalERRN), is not amongst us any more... she passed away a few days ago. Cindy had seen Queensryche all around the world, making friends wherever she's been. Her memorial service took place at Cooperstown, in Phoenix, AZ, one of her favorite places. The Greek Empire had met Cindy and was deeply touched and impressed by her grace and incredible spirit. Have a GREat trip, Cind... until we meet again...
"American Soldier", the new Ryche album!
Let's quote from the Campaign News Camp once more...
Epic
Concept Album
Looks
At War
From
The
Soldier's
Perspective; Spring Tour Of U.S. To Follow
Queensrÿche
is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their 12th
studio album,
AMERICAN SOLDIER.
The concept album, due this spring from Rhino/Atco, finds the band once again
tackling some heavy subject matter, this time focusing on telling the story of
war from a firsthand perspective. Singer and chief songwriter
Geoff Tate
has spent the last few years conducting extensive interviews with veterans and
has crafted their thoughts into this epic tale. AMERICAN SOLDIER examines
American wars from
World
War II
through
Iraq
from the viewpoint of those in the trenches and on the frontlines. Following
the album's
release, Queensrÿche plan to present tracks from the album live on an
extensive spring tour of the U.S., with international dates to follow later in
2009. The first date of the tour will be a hometown gig at
Seattle's
Snoqualmie Casino on April 16.
"Queensrÿche
has always had incredible support from members of the Armed Services"
says Tate. "It
seems like after every show, I'd
end up speaking with a fan that was or had been involved with the military.
The more and more I began to hear their accounts and feelings, the more I
really felt a conviction to tell their story. Over the last two years, I've
conducted dozens of one-on-one interviews with veterans of many different
American wars. I listened to their amazing and moving recounts and did my best
to examine war through their eyes".
News from the camp
Whilst the Ryche are getting ready for their next studio album, band-members are showing hyper-busyashell activities. Collaborations all over the place. Michael "Master Of The Universe" Wilton is gonna participate on the next Tim "The Ripper" Owens solo album! Those two have already worked together on some songs and rumor has it that Tim is going to sing on the next "Soulbender" album.
Apart from that, Whip and Rocken have formed a band under the name "Ray Gun", a Metal mobile, according to their statements. Scott Rockenfield is also the man behind the drums for the Geoff Tate band, which kicked off some live gigs to celebrate GT's collaboration with wine producing company 3 Rivers Winery. Geoff Tate's "Insania" will be on our tables and in our glasses some time next year (you can call me February).
Mike Stone has already created Speed-X, along with Nick Cantanese from Black Label Society, plus, when he's got some spare time, he's riding his Buell bike. He took place in a race recently.
Eddie Jackson is having a cool time at his place, mowing his own lawn (!!!), getting ready for the procedures of the next Ryche studio attack.
As for the lovely Miss Pamela Moore, she's formed her own project, the Pamela Moore Band, she's getting ready for a few live gigs, she's also part of the Geoff Tate Band and a few days ago she was mentioned by... Bruce Dickinson! Pamela is a guest vocalist on the "Angels & Demons" song by Eden's Curse, which is featured on their second album entitled "The second coming"; it will hit the stores on October 15. Bruce chose this one for his BBC radio show playlist and his comment was "Did you fall in love with that voice? I did"! Check out this awesome song on www.myspace.com/edenscurse
